Who We Are
Since 1985, the Oregon Chorale has been bringing the joy of music to the Portland community from our home in Hillsboro. With 80 voices, we celebrate a wide range of music, from classical masterpieces to contemporary hits, and love collaborating with local musicians to create unforgettable performances.
We’ve had the honor of singing on iconic stages like Carnegie Hall, touring internationally, and even stepping into the spotlight as backup singers for Cypress Hill. Our partnerships with groups like the Oregon Symphony and our professional recordings showcase our passion for excellence and musical exploration. As one community member shared, “The concert was filled with exuberant music sung by enthusiastic choristers led by their dynamic director. Exceptional music performed by a joyful ensemble.”
But for us, it’s about more than just performances—it’s about building community and fostering a lifelong love of music. Whether we’re performing at Hillsboro Holly Days or supporting local school choral programs, we’re committed to making a difference.
Our singers come from all walks of life, united by a shared love of music and a commitment to making a difference. Whether we’re on stage or working in the community, we’re here to inspire, uplift, and connect through the power of music.

Our Values
Empowering Youth
A core part of the Oregon Chorale’s mission is to nurture the musical growth of young people in our community.
Through our Emerging Voices program, which began in 2000, talented high school singers are invited to rehearse and perform with the Chorale each term, receiving free voice lessons and music. We also offer free choral clinics and workshops to local school programs, helping to inspire the next generation of musicians.
We also offer the Bernie Kuehn Music Scholarship, an endowed scholarship award for graduating high school students pursuing a music major or minor in college. Additionally, we feature high school musicians at select performances and provide free concert admission to anyone under 18, ensuring that young audiences can experience the joy of live music.
