The Oregon Chorale is a sixty-voice symphonic choir founded by Bernd R. Kuehn. Based in Hillsboro, Oregon, the Oregon Chorale has been delighting audiences since 1985, performing choral music from around the world and maintaining an appreciation for technique while exhibiting flexibility of musical style. The passion that we have for singing challenging, beautiful music is matched only by our love of the community and the fun we create together.  We have sung in over 40 languages, traveled all over the world, and are constantly looking for the next big work to perform. Our formal concerts showcase a variety of styles from Classical to Baroque, Renaissance to Contemporary. Our less formal presentations include world folk music, spirituals, dinner theater and staged shows.

Hillsboro Community,
I want to let you know about an exciting tribute to Bernie Kuehn, our outgoing Artistic Director. As a way to honor his years of service and contribution to the community, the Oregon Chorale seeks to raise $25,000 to start an endowed scholarship with the Hillsboro Community Foundation (HCF). The importance of endowing the scholarship is so that it may be an ongoing, perpetual award. We are working with HCF so that it may be effectively and efficiently managed for optimum return. If we establish the fund by June 30 of this year, the first high school scholarship can be awarded in 2016. We expect many people will want to make a gift in honor of Bernie’s service to the community, so we are doing a general appeal. However, for Bernie’s close friends and admirers, we are creating a “Founders Circle” of people who contribute $1,000 or more in order to get the endowment started by June. Founder’s Circle contributors will always be recognized in Oregon Chorale concert programs. With the general appeal, we will add additional categories of support, but the Founder’s Circle will continually be so recognized. Please consider this special tribute to Bernie, for either at the $1000 Level (Founder’s Circle), or any amount you may wish to give.

Please make checks out to the following address, putting “BK Music Scholarship” in the memo line:
