Meet Jason Sabino

Known for his “enthusiastic performances” and “characteristically incisive conducting” (Oregon Arts Watch), Jason Sabino is an active conductor, clinician and singer in the Portland area. He has conducted ensembles of all backgrounds and all ages and his résumé includes everything from early music to vocal jazz and new music. Jason is currently Artistic Assistant and Associate Conductor of Pacific Youth Choir, the largest youth choir program in Oregon, where he is the conductor of the Boychoir and assistant conductor for high school ensembles Pacific and Chamber Choir. He also prepares choirs for the Oregon Symphony, most recently for their Star Trek and rePLAY: Symphony of Heroes concerts.

An advocate for music education, Jason is an active clinician of choirs in the Portland area. He was Assistant Director of Choro in Schola, a non-profit organization that serves high school choral programs through workshops, clinics and performances. He is an professional member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Oregon Music Education Association (OMEA), and Early Music America (EMA). Jason recently served as Host Site Coordinator for the National Collegiate Choral Organization's (NCCO) Sixth National Conference in Portland.

Jason is a native of the Philippines is a recent transplant to Portland from Southern California. In his spare time, Jason loves video games, board games, hiking, and being a foodie.
